    Census 2010

    The US Census Bureau is recruiting for workers to fill jobs as census workers and clerks.

    The Job Seekers link on the 2010 Census web site is now live.  The link gives job seekers the location and pay rate for LCO's that are, and will be, opening across the country.

    Calera, Alabaster and Helena among the best 100 places to live, according to Money magazine

    Three Shelby County cities are among the best 100 places to live, according to Money magazine. Calera, Alabaster and Helena were chosen as some of America's best small towns, according to the list released Monday.     ADEM Announces Burn Ban

    The Alabama Department of Environmental Management is reminding Alabamians of the open burning ban going into effect for 12 counties.  The ban, which is designed to protect air quality, is effective from May through October and includes Baldwin, DeKalb, Etowah, Jefferson, Lawrence, Madison, Mobile, Montgomery, Morgan, Russell, Shelby, and Talladega counties.

    Shelby County Volunteers in Service Shelby Volunteers in Service Inc. is a new non-profit with a mission to match volunteers with those who are in need as well as to assist agencies in the Shelby County community fulfill their unmet staffing needs with valuable volunteers.
