HUMANE SOCIETY..
provides citizens with a source for adoption of animals, surrender
of animals, education regarding vaccinations and spay/neuter as
well as other animal treatment issues. The Shelby

MIDDLE
ALABAMA AREA AGENCY (M4A)...
in coordination with the Alabama Department of Senior Services (ADSS),
provides services to seniors 60+, including: coordination of
transportation and nutrition to six local Senior Centers, home
delivered meals and referral information concerning resources for
older persons, based on the mission of the Older Americans Act.
Other temporary services include homemaker services, caregiver
respite, medication assistance and telephone reassurance programs.
M4A also provides information and assistance, outreach and
education, legal services, insurance counseling, and a nursing
home/assisted living Ombudsmen Program. Contact M4A

OWENS
HOUSE, SHELBY COUNTY ADVOCACY CENTER...
aides victims of child abuse through the process our society designed
to deal with illegal activity. The Family Advocate Program
is designed to ensure that the safety of child victims is the number

SAFE
HOUSE...
provides shelter services to women and children who have been victims
of domestic violence. They provide therapeutic childcare services,
play therapy and advocacy to children who have witnessed or been

SHELBY
COUNTY RSVP...
provides senior volunteers 55+ for a variety of worthwhile and
stimulating volunteer opportunities throughout the community.
Volunteer recognition programs reward approximately 500 deserving
senior volunteers annually at a Spring Banquet and Christmas party,
as a thank you for many hours of volunteer work, which Shelby County

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE...
provides aid to clients who have had a recent crisis and need short
term assistance with food, utility bills, housing, medical/dental
needs and money management. Pre-natal and Parenting education
